March Madness 2013: Alabama Keeps Hopes Alive With Half-Court Buzzer Beater

Alabama Crimson Tide guard Trevor Releford nailed the shot of the month on Saturday when he lobbed up a half-court prayer at the buzzer and hit nothing but net to lift ‘Bama over the Georgia Bulldogs, 61-58, at the Coleman Coliseum.

Alabama blew a 17-point lead and was in danger of having their tournament hopes vanish before Releford saved the day.

Releford’s buzzer beater not only earned the win for the Crimson Tide, but it kept their NCAA tournament hopes alive. Alabama currently sits at  20-11 with head coach Anthony Grant ready to lead his team to the next step.

Alabama is in the mix for one of the final at-large bids in the tournament field and they will now carry this momentum into the SEC tournament in Nashville next week.

Here is a video of the shot:

Simply incredible. There is no better way to get March Madness going.

Do you think Alabama will be earn one of the final at-large bids or will they be on the outside looking in on Selection Sunday?
