We are just over 24 hours until the start of the new league year and free agency period and one of the rumors that has been circulating since day one of the offseason continues to be going strong. There is no secret that the Miami Dolphins are interested in Pittsburgh Steelers free agent wide receiver and reports now indicate that he is the team’s focus.
Wallace to the Dolphins has gone from interest, to main target, to favorite and now Wallace is the team’s focus. It is hard to picture a scenario where Wallace will not sign in South Beach.
According to Mike Garafolo of USA Today, the Dolphins spent the first two days of the legal-tampering period talking with Wallace’s agent in hopes of agreeing to an outline of a deal that can become official at 4:00 p.m. ET on Tuesday.
All rumors indicate that Wallace will receive north of $10 million per year.
In the case that a team emerges and steals Wallace from the Dolphins grasp, Rams receiver Brandon Gibson is reportedly plan B. While Gibson is a very talented player, he lacks the explosion and dynamic playmaking ability that Wallace would bring to the team.
