The New York Jets are hoping to act quickly and find a trade partner for star cornerback Darrelle Revis while cornerback needy teams are still looking for ways to address their problems and it looks like they may have found a potential partner.
According to Pro Football Talk, the Tampa Bay Buccaneers have made the Jets a “good offer” for Revis.
What would compensation be for a cornerback looking for a big contract and coming off of a knee injury?
At best, it’s a package headlined by a second-round pick this year or possibly a first-rounder in 2014. Under these circumstances, a 2013 first-round pick for Revis doesn’t make sense.
If the Jets are set on moving Revis quickly, they should make this the deal they take. It is hard to imagine there is a team out there that would give anything more than a second-round pick for Revis without seeing him back on the field first.
