Pittsburgh Steelers free agent running back Rashard Mendenhall has been receiving a surprising amount of interest following a season where he was plagued by injuries and just one year removed from a torn ACL.

Mendenhall has attracted attention from the Arizona Cardinals and Miami Dolphins, but Pro Football Talk is reporting that the Denver Broncos are the favorite to land the former first-round pick.

Per the report:

"We reported over the weekend, which feels like it was a year ago, that the Broncos are interested in running back Rashard Mendenhall. Interest could soon become something more.Per a league source, the Broncos are likely to add the former first-round pick, whose rookie contract with the Steelers officially expired earlier today."

If the Broncos do decide to bring in Mendenhall, veteran running back Willis McGahee’s time in Denver would likely come to an end.
