With the New York Giants looking to add talent at the linebacker position this season, they are doing their due diligence on the free agent market. One of the players that has generated attention from the Giants is Minnesota Vikings free agent linebacker Jasper Brinkley.

Last season was the first year that Brinkley saw significant starting time since joining the league as a fifth-round pick in 2009. Brinkley started in 15 games this past year and, as you would expect, had career highs in tackles and forced fumbles.
Brinkley fell just short of 100 tackles — he racked up 99 — and managed to force three fumbles. Brinkley was also able to hold his own in coverage, knocking down three pass attempts.
He would be a great addition to the Giants linebacking corp if they are able to lock him up.
