Dallas Cowboys free agent linebacker Victor Butler is one of the more under-the-radar free agents that has yet to find a home, but with the middle-tier free agents finally starting to get action, Butler is starting to generate some interest on the open market. In fact, Butler has a visit line up tomorrow and several teams are interested in the skilled pass rusher.
Butler’s first visit will be with the Pittsburgh Steelers, who need to find an outside linebacker for their 3-4 pass rushing attack.
The former fourth-round pick joined the league in the 2009 NFL Draft.
Butler is incredibly talented, but he has not been able to show off his full skill set in Dallas because he was buried on the depth chart behind DeMarcus Ware and Anthony Spencer. Despite limited action behind the two star rushers, he has racked up 11 sacks and four forced fumbles.
At just 25-years-old, Butler has loads of potential and will benefit from a fresh start. Playing under Dick LeBeau could be great for his career.
