New York Knicks forward Carmelo Anthony told the media on Wednesday after the team’s loss to the Denver Nuggets that he would be headed back to the Big Apple on Thursday to have the fluid in his knee drained.
From the New York Knicks public relations Twitter page:
Carmelo Anthony had a soft tissue fluid collection of his posterior right knee aspirated today in NY. He is questionable for Sunday at LA.

While he recovers from the minor procedure, Anthony’s status for Sunday’s game against the Los Angeles Clippers is up in the air. The New York Knicks have officially listed their star forward as questionable.
It was not a major procedure on his knee, but the Knicks would still be wise to keep Anthony on the sidelines until he is fully recovered.
Once the playoffs roll around, the Knicks will need Anthony to help take the team on a run. If he has any setbacks or is not at 100 percent for the postseason, then New York’s chances take a serious blow.
Rest up, Carmelo. The Knicks and their fans will need you moving forward.
