The New York Giants have plenty of options at safety, but that won’t stop them from looking to add depth and talent during the free agency period. According to a report from Ralph Vacchiano of the New York Daily News, the Giants will be hosting former Pittsburgh Steelers safety Ryan Mundy on Thursday.
Mundy was set to fly in to New York on Wednesday night and have his official visit today.
New York currently has Antrel Rolle, Stevie Brown and Kenny Phillips, but there are some expectations Phillips will be sign with another team in the coming days or weeks. Mundy would give the Giants another back up player that has some starting experience. While he has only started five games during his time with the Steelers, any experience is quality experience.
During his time in the Steel City, Mundy has 30 tackles and one interception.
