The New York Jets lost running back Shonn Greene in free agency when he bolted to the Tennessee Titans to join Chris Johnson in the backfield, so they were examining the free agent market to determine which rusher would be a good fit in The Big Apple. After a day of searching, it looks like the Jets found their guy in former Carolina Panthers and Oakland Raiders running back Mike Goodson.
Per ESPN’s Adam Schefter:
Jets signed Mike Goodson to a three-year, $6.9 million deal.

Goodson is a nice change of pace back and could be a solid option as a third-down running back for the Jets. On top of his versatility and speed out of the backfield, Goodson is a legitimate threat in the return game.
Throughout his career, Goodson has racked up over 2,000 return yards and holds a 21.6 yard per return average.
Goodson may not be a big name running back, but he has the potential to be a solid contributor for New York.
