NCAA Tournament 2013 Bracket: Albany Earns Automatic Bid With America East Title

The Albany Great Danes have punched their ticket to the big dance. With a 53-49 victory over the Vermont Catamounts on Saturday, the Great Danes earned the America East tournament championship and an automatic bid to the 2013 NCAA tournament. Albany became the first team seeded lower than third to win the conference tournament.

It will be the first tournament appearance for Albany since 2007.

Albany got off to a slow start in the game, but a strong defensive effort was enough to get the team an eight point halftime lead. After the break, the team never looked back and the Great Danes rolled to the title.

The complete field of tournament participants will be announced on Selection Sunday just over twenty four hours from now.
