The co-main event at UFC 158: St-Pierre vs. Diaz was a welterweight fight between Johny Hendricks and Carlos Condit with the winner being next in line for a crack at the 170-pound title.
With the title shot on the line, both men came out throwing everything they had and the bout did not disappoint. In fact, Hendricks and Condit each earned a $50,000 bonus for Fight of the Night. It doesn’t just stop there. Not only was the bout dubbed Fight of the Night, but the buzz was building during and after the match that it is among the early Fight of the Year candidates.
In the end, Hendricks was able to use his wrestling and power to work his way to a decision victory, but Condit had nothing to be ashamed of for his efforts.
