The New England Patriots can breathe a sigh of relief. Hard-hitting safety Bernard Pollard has agreed to a one-year deal with the Tennessee Titans after visiting the team last week. While the Titans make an excellent addition to their defensive backfield, the Baltimore Ravens lost their second safety in the past 48 hours. That means both starting safeties for the Ravens in Super Bowl XLVII now have new homes for 2013.
Josina Anderson was the first to pass along the news:
I just got off the phone with Bernard Pollard. Pollard told me, “I’ve agreed to sign a one-year deal with the Titans.” #Titans

The 28-year-old Pollard may struggle in coverage, but there is no questioning his physicality and the ability he has to change the attitude of a defensive unit. The Titans are hoping he can bring some toughness to the Tennessee defense.
Hopefully for Tennessee, they get the production from Pollard on the field without the problems in the locker room like the Ravens experienced last season.
