The No. 2 seeded Duke Blue Devils took care of business early Friday afternoon when they rolled past the No. 15 seed Albany Great Danes in the second round of the 2013 NCAA Tournament. Duke hardly broke a sweat as they cruised past Albany, 73-61, to advance in the Midwest region.
Seth Curry paced the Blue Devils offense with a 26-point effort. Curry added five rebounds and three assists. He was the games leading scorer.
Duke forward Mason Plumlee added 23-points and 9 boards.
With the win, the Blue Devils advance to the next round of the tournament where they will face the winner of the Creighton vs. Cincinnati match up. Duke will be heavily favored to advance to the Sweet 16.
Albany had a spirited effort despite being clearly outmatched on the court, but they leave the tournament with nothing to be ashamed of. The team never gave up even though they were struggling to keep pace with Duke.
