UNLV’s Anthony Bennett to Enter 2013 NBA Draft

The UNLV Revels entered the 2013 NCAA Tournament as a No. 5 seed and had hopes of making a run, but those homes came to a screeching halt when they were upset in their opening game by the No. 12-seeded California Golden Bears. While it was a disappointing tournament appearance, the loss to Cal is not the biggest loss the team will suffer in March.

According to CBS Sports, UNLV freshman forward Anthony Bennett will be announcing his intentions to enter the 2013 NBA Draft later this week.

Bennett finished the year being named the Mountain West Freshman of the Year and a first team All-Mountain West selection. In his final game this season, Bennett had 15 points, 11 rebounds, two assists and two steals.

The 6-foot-8 Canadian forward averaged 16.1 points and 8.1 rebounds per game this season and is expected to be one of the high lottery picks in the upcoming draft class. There is a very strong chance that Bennett could be selected within the first three selections.
