Miami Dolphins Still in the Mix For Brent Grimes

The Miami Dolphins traded away starting cornerback Vontae Davis last season and lost their other starter in free agency when Sean Smith bolted for the Kansas City Chiefs. With two starting cornerbacks on the outs, the Dolphins are looking for replacements and they are still in the mix for one of the best defensive backs left on the market.

Brent Grimes visited the Dolphins early in free agency and they are reportedly still in the mix for the free agents services.

Per Ben Volin of the Palm Beach Post:

Miami could target a top cornerback prospect early in the 2013 NFL Draft, as we mentioned in our updated mock draft, and you could expect the team to continue targeting the top cornerback prospects even if they are able to land Grimes.

Grimes is surrounded with concerns over his health as he continues to recover from a torn Achilles tendon.

If healthy, Grimes would be a big upgrade for the Dolphins secondary.
