The Marquette Golden Eagles knocked off No. 2-seeded Miami earlier on Thursday afternoon, and they now know who their opponent will be for their regional final match up in the Elite 8. The Syracuse Orange were able to knock off the No. 1 seed Indiana Hoosiers in impressive fashion on Thursday night to advance to the next round. Syracuse knocked off the Hoosiers, 61-50.

Michael Carter-Williams led the way for Syracuse with 24-points and also was the game’s top-scorer. Carter-Williams added six rebounds and four steals.

The big story for the Orange was their success against Cody Zeller and the unbelievable number of shots they were able to block. As a team, Syracuse racked up 12 rejections — Jerami Grant and Baye Keita each had three.

For the Hoosiers, it was a disappointing end to their promising season. On a positive note, the poor performance could end up working in their favor if Cody Zeller feels their is some unfinished business and decides to return to the team for another season.
