The No. 1-seeded Kansas Jayhawks looked poised to advance to the Elite 8 with a 14-point lead heading in to the final minutes of their Sweet 16 match up against the No. 4 seed Michigan Wolverines. Unfortunately for the Jayhawks, with a three point lead, they left Michigan’s Trey Burke get an open look and launch the game-tying three-pointer to force overtime. It was a big time shot from a big time player and showed why Burke is such a key player for the Wolverines. 

It was a clutch shot that kept the Wolverines tournament hopes alive.

Heading in to overtime, Burke had 18 points. He started off the overtime period with a heat check that showed he was feeling his stroke.

The winner of Kansas vs. Michigan will advance to face the winner of No. 3 seed Florida and the No. 15-seeded Cinderella squad from Florida Gulf Coast. If the Wolverines advance, they’ve got Trey Burke to thank for coming up big when it mattered the most.
