The Michigan Wolverines have returned to the Final Four as champions of the South Region. In a dominating performance at Cowboys Stadium in Arlington, Texas, the Wolverines steamrolled No. 3 seed Florida by a score of 79-59 in a game that was never in question.
Michigan led the game from the jump thanks to a brilliant shooting performance and they never looked back.
Freshman guard Nik Stauskas was a big reason for the Michigan success as he led the game in scoring with 22 points. The most impressive part of Stauskas’ performance was that 18 of his 22 points came on a 6-for-6 performance from behind the arch. As a team, the Wolverines drilled 10-of-19 attempts from three-point range.
Florida was unable to carry over the momentum they had gained in their Sweet 16 match up against Florida Gulf Coast. After ending the Eagles Cinderella story, Florida was unable to create a future for themselves in the Final Four.
Michigan now advances to play fellow No. 4 seed Syracuse in the Final Four with a shot at the the tournament championship on the line.
