Video: Rutgers Coach Mike Rice Physically and Verbally Abusing Players

Rutgers Scarlet Knights head basketball coach Mike Rice was suspended in December for three games after some knowledge of abuse of his players during traffic, but now a video has been released that highlights the extent of the abuse from Rice thanks to ESPN. The video is troubling as you see Rice punching, kicking, throwing balls at his players and showering them with gay slurs.

When you see the video, you will not believe that all the university did was suspend Rice for those three games and fine him $50,000.

Here is the troubling video from ESPN’s Outside the Lines of Rice physically and verbally abusing his players:

It is absolutely stunning that the university has not fired Rice yet with this knowledge of his actions. College coaches are supposed to help these young athletes mature on and off the court and this type of behavior from their authority figure is both sickening and unacceptable.

There is no reason for this man to be employed as a coach and hopefully the university will act soon with appropriate punishment.

The abuse that Rice showered down on his players was disgusting and there is no place for that type of behavior in the sports world, let alone from a head coach.

How do you think Rutgers should handle the situation? Sound off in the comments section and let us hear your thoughts.
