Barb Honchak and Vanessa Porto entered the cage in the Invicta FC 5 co-main event to face off for the promotion’s inaugural flyweight title. The two got off to a slow start and spent the first round getting a feel for their opponent. Unfortunately, the two never kicked things into high gear and spent a majority of the five round fight trying to gain control of the positioning on the cage.

Neither fighter was able to establish themselves as a dominant presence, but Honchak was bringing the action at a higher volume than Porto. Ultimately, the fight went to the judges.

When the scorecards were read, Barb Honchak was named the first Invicta FC flyweight title via unanimous decision, 50-45, 49-46, 48-47. She will now look forward to her first title defense after the gritty performance against Porto.
