The dominoes continue to fall in the wake of the Mike Rice fiasco with the Rutgers Scarlet Knights basketball team. The latest person to get the ax after turning a blind eye to the actions of his head coach was Rutgers athletic director Tim Pernetti.
New surfaced this morning that the university will announce later today at a press conference that Pernetti is no longer with the school. He is expected to make a statement.
Per Tara Sullivan of The Record:
Another axe about to fall. Sources confirm Pernetti is done. All that’s left is determining resignation versus termination.

You never like to see to people lose their jobs, but this was a move that had to be made.
It was completely unacceptable to not immediately act and fire Mike Rice whenever word of his abuse first surfaced. This wasn’t just a case of word of mouth, there was visual evidence.
Rutgers made the right call. It just should have come sooner.
