Connor McGregor entered the octagon on Saturday with a lot of hype behind him. He was making his UFC debut against TUF veteran Marcus Brimage on the undercard of UFC on FUEL TV 9 in Stockholm, Sweden. After just a minute in the cage, we all learned why McGregor has the hype surrounding him.

McGregor has incredible standup and was able to pick apart Brimage from the start.

Brimage came out overly aggressive and immediately got in McGregor’s face. He was landing big shots but was unable to rock the Irish man. McGregor stayed patient and used his superior footwork and head movement to pick apart Brimage on way to a first-round knockout.

After the fight, McGregor had a plea for the Knockout of the Night bonus with a little message for UFC president Dana White.

“I thought he was emotionally attached to the contest,” McGregor said. “Dana, 60 G’s, baby!”

McGregor has all of the makings of a star with his elite stand up game and charismatic personality. It will be interesting to see what the UFC has in store for McGregor next.
