The Cleveland Browns have the No. 6 overall pick in the 2013 NFL Draft and they are exploring all options for when they are on the clock. While the belief is that the Browns could be looking to add a defensive back or pass rusher, they are looking at an offensive player with their most recently scheduled private visit.
According to Mary Kay Cabot of the Cleveland Plain Dealer on Tuesday night. the Browns are set to fly out to Miami on Saturday to host a private workout with Geno Smith.
Cleveland recently signed back up quarterback Jason Campbell to push last year’s starter Brandon Weeden in camp, but the team’s officials are not committed to Weeden in any way, shape or form. If the Browns want to add a young quarterback in this year’s draft, they will do so without hesitation, sit them for a year and then cut the current starter at the end of the season.
It seems like a flawless plan, but this is the Cleveland Browns that we are talking about.
You never know what is going to happen.
