Injured Louisville Cardinals player Kevin Ware was a big source of motivation for his teammates as they looked to win the national championship in honor of him. Since the minute he went down with the gruesome injury, the entire Louisville squad became closer and you could see their chemistry continue to go as they rallied around each other and shared their blood, sweat and tears.

When Louisville won the 2013 NCAA Tournament final, they wanted Ware to be a part of cutting down the nets, which is every college basketball player’s dream.

Ware got to do just that.

Louisville had planned to lower the rims if they won the title so that Ware could share the honor of cutting down the net, and when he got to join his teammates in the celebration, it was a truly special moment.

Congratulations to the entire Louisville basketball program and head coach Rick Pitino. It was an inspiring run that ended exactly how the Cardinals had planned.
