Being an older golf fan and having watched The Masters since the late 1960’s, I have a favorite hole at The Augusta National Golf Course, as I’m sure you have. It is the hole that if I could play one hole at the famous layout, I would want to play. It is something on my bucket list that will more than likely never be accomplished.

For Me it’s the tenth hole. It’s name is Camellia, and when Augusta National was first opened for play, was the starting hole. Wow!! What a challenge right out of the gate. This long par four plays steeply downhill and features a nearly 60-yard-long center bunker well short of the green. Players will try to drive the ball to the left center for the best angle into a green that pitches right to left. Until 1935, this was the first hole. It is traditionally the most difficult hole on the course.

I was happy last year when the playoff between Louis Oosthuizen and Bubba Watson made it to this hole. I knew in my heart that the tournament would end at Camellia, before they teed off at my favorite hole. Like you, after the tee shots, give the advantage to Oosthuizen. Bubba was deep in the woods, and he would  be lucky to even find his ball, let alone get it on the green from that angle.

We were then treated to the beauty of Sunday at Augusta. Just like the magic Tom Watson found at the 17th at Pebble Beach in the 1982 US Open, Bubba made a shot for history.

I have told you about my favorite hole, use the comment section to let everyone know which is your favorite.
