The New Orleans Hornets No. 1 pick will miss the remainder of the season, but the news could have been a lot worse. Anthony Davis went down in a lot of pain on Wednesday night with what looked to be a serious knee injury, but on Thursday it was reported that Davis was diagnosed with a sprained MCL and a bone bruise in his left knee. An MRI on Thursday determined that there was no serious structural damage.

Davis should be able to return to summer league, but he will be out of commission for the end of the regular season.

This season, Davis averaged 13.5 points and 8.2 rebounds per game. He continued to improve as the season went on and he will be a great building block for the Hornets moving forward.  Actually, I guess we should call them the Pelicans.

After recovering from his minor setback, Davis will be looking to get back on the court and ready himself for a big time sophomore season.
