Mississippi State cornerback Darius Slay is the latest player to be added to the list of players attending the 2013 NFL Draft. NFL.com’s Gil Brandt passed along the report on Friday evening.
Desmond Trufant won’t be in NYC for the #NFLDraft. His grandfather is ill. We’re replacing him with Miss. St. CB Darius Slay.

Slay joins Alabama’s Dee Milliner and Florida State’s Xavier Rhodes as the cornerbacks who will be intending the draft at Radio City Music Hall, which begins on Thursday, April 25.
The 6-foot, 192-pound Slay burst on to the scene at the 2013 NFL Scouting Combine in Indianapolis after an impressive workout. Slay recorded a time of 4.36 seconds in the 40-yard dash at Lucas Oil Stadium, which was the best among defensive backs.
There is some belief that Slay’s skills translate better to the NFL than his college teammate, Johnthan Banks.
Slay is a much more fluid athlete and his athleticism will attract a number of teams. It wouldn’t be a surprise to see Slay drafted ahead of Banks on day two of the draft.
