As news continues to surface surrounding the troubling explosions near the finish line at the Boston Marathon, there are reports of a third explosion that was controlled by police. CBS News producer Kylie Atwood passed along the news while reporting on the air.

“We don’t know where it was but they gave us a warning that you’re gonna hear a large sound in a few minutes and sure enough, we just heard that large sound go off. I asked the policeman and I said ‘Do you think that was a bomb’ and he nodded his head to say yes. He did not confirm that but that’s what it’s looking like right now.”
The bomb squad controlled the explosion.
Officials: There will be a controlled explosion opposite the library within one minute as part of bomb squad activities.

Police are urging spectators to go home. There is no knowledge of any more immediate threats, but everyone should be cautious and report any suspicious activity.
