British Olympian discus thrower Lawrence Okoye has lined up another workout with an NFL team, despite never playing a down of organized football. At 6-foot-6-inches and 285 pounds, Okoye has rare size that NFL teams are drooling over.
If his size wasn’t enough to get teams excited, Okoye ran a 4.78 second 40-yard-dash at the super regional combine in Dallas last month.
“I really stood out because of my size, strength and speed,” Okoye told The Daily Mail after his combine appearance in March. “I don’t want to sound arrogant, but I was good [at the combine] – to the point that a lot of NFL clubs began talking to me.”
With all of the initial interest, Okoye has been setting up visits with teams around the league.
Who is the latest to bring in the Olympian for a work out? The Chicago Bears.
According to Dave Birkett of the Detroit Free Press:
Lawrence Okoye, the Olympic discus thrower trying to make it as an NFL DL, is visiting the #Bears tonight/Mon before heading back home

Okoye has previously worked out for the San Francisco 49ers and New Orleans Saints.
While he is unlikely to get drafted, Okoye will get a shot at making an NFL roster. With his determination and raw talent, it wouldn’t be out of the question to see a man that has never played a down of organized football out on the gridiron.
