Dennis Rodman turned some heads earlier this year, when he traveled to North Korea with the Harlem Globetrotters for a new HBO series. Usually Rodman’s attention comes from his odd behavior or stints on the Celebrity Apprentice, but this time it was a larger world issue.

Rodman met with North Korean leader Kim Jong Un, and it immediately caught the attention of the government. The interest in Rodman’s little visit was so high, that the FBI requested to meet with the NBA Hall of Famer.

“They wanted to know what went on and who’s really in charge in North Korea,” Rodman told the Miami Herald. “I have been invited back to North Korea in August, and I want to go.”

As bizarre as it may seem, Rodman is now viewed by the FBI as an asset after meeting with them and discussing information about Kim Jong Un.

“I know what Kim Jong Un is threatening to do regarding his military muscle,” Rodman said. “I hope it doesn’t happen because America will take whatever actions to protect America and our allies. I do think that we have to talk to people who want to cause us harm, so hopefully they won’t.”

But, hey, at least Rodman found a new pal.

“He’s a good guy to me,” Rodman said. “As a person to person, he’s my friend. I don’t condone what he does.”

At least we now know that Rodman is not planning a nuclear attack or condoning the actions of a communist leader on the other side of the world.

As surreal as it may seem, Dennis Rodman is now a valuable FBI asset — at least in his own mind. What a strange world we live in.

If he turns in to a fashion icon, then we are all in trouble.
