Miesha Tate Wants Rematch With Cat Zingano, But Not With Kim Winslow As Ref

There has been a lot of discussion regarding whether or not the stoppage in the Miesha Tate vs. Cat Zingano fight was premature and Tate has been adamant that she was still in the fight. Tate’s latest rant about the stoppage came on her official Facebook fan page, where she posted a photo and caption saying she is ready for a rematch with Zingano, but not if there is a certain third person in the cage.

“Can’t help my nose bleeds a lot still frustrated at the stoppage, think the ref freaked because of blood when she should have been focusing on the fact that I was still perfectly coherent and shooting for a takedown after two solid knees landed,” Tate said in her Facebook post. “I was still in the fight and up on the score cards.

“Can’t pay enough respect to Cat she’s a warrior & I’d love the honor of fighting her in the future again but NOT with Kim Winslow as the ref.”

For what it is worth, UFC president Dana White stands behind Winslow’s decision to stop the fight. However, many believe there was an illegal knee that rocked Tate before the fight ending flurry.

When you watch the finish, you can see Tate shoots for a takedown but misses before Winslow stops the fight. Here is the finish, via Zombie Pophet:

It was a great fight, but the stoppage was fair. I’m no Winslow fan buy any means, but Tate was getting rocked hard and was about to get seriously jacked. Miesha is one tough fighter. She took the one of most brutal arm bars from Rousey I’ve ever seen, where MOST men would have tapped as soon as it was locked. It was the best fight of the night!

tate’s a sore loser, she got her ass handed to her and then proceeded to fall down claiming it was a shoot, you lost, take it and move on. Making excuses like she did puts her 10 notches down.

Stopped too soon. Ref should have waited till it went to a ground and pound. There should never be any doubt left when a fight is over.

When I was watching the fight live at the time Tate went for the takedown I thought she fell because of damage that was landed. The replay looks like it was kind of mix of a takedown and just falling. So in the end I wouldn’t mind seeing Tate taking more shots a little longer if that’s what she wanted

Not sure what the big fuss is about here. Tate clearly falls to the ground face first, if Kim didn’t stop the fight then cat would of just landed multiple shots from on top . 4 knees to the face + an elbow in this video + all the shots before hand and mostly all of them landed.

    A little too soon imo.

She was done after those knees. Stop wining like a little baby. Suck up the loss and improve.

Tate would have been seriously hurt had the fight been allowed to continue. Zingano was hitting at will with both knee and elbow. There shouldn’t be any complaint from Tate.
