After a lot of back and forth discussion, the Cincinnati Bengals have agreed to a deal with former Pittsburgh Steelers linebacker James Harrison. The Bengals and Harrison agreed to a two-year deal. Financial terms of the deal have not been disclosed.

James Harrison himself announced his new team on Twitter:

It will be interesting to see how Harrison is able to make the transition from a 3-4 defense to 4-3 linebacker. That concern is a big reason for the small market for his services.

Harrison will join Rey Maualuga and Vontaze Burfict to complete the Bengals linebacking corp. It is a hard-nosed, physical trio of players that will surely strike fear in the eyes of opponents. Of course, Harrison will have to prove that he still has some gas left in the tank.

The only teams Harrison met with were in the AFC North, so it seems clear that he was looking to “stick it” to the Steelers.

One thing is for sure: the Steelers – Bengals rivalry just got that much more interesting.
