David Ortiz: ‘This is Our F’in City’ (Video)

To close out one of the most incredible and touching pre-game ceremonies we have ever seen in sports, Boston Red Sox fan-favorite David Ortiz took the microphone to address the crowd. Ortiz’s address to the crowd was simple, heartfelt and downright awesome.

Ortiz didn’t care that he was on live television. He spoke from the heart and let his emotions show. The best part about Ortiz’s pre-game speech? He dropped an f-bomb and no one seemed to care.

“This is our f—ing city!” Ortiz said. “Nobody’s gonna dictate our freedom. Stay strong.”

Here is the video:

You can’t get your point across any better than that. It really was incredible to see how the crowd reacted.

To start off the ceremony, members of the Boston police department poured out of the Red Sox dugout to take the field. The crowd then came together to sing the national anthem, before Big Papi closed it all out with his amazing speech.

Now, there is a ballgame to be played.

He said what everyone was thinking. Big Papi has hit just as many homers with the mic as he has with his bat.
