David Ortiz addressed the Boston Red Sox fans and entire crowd at Fenway park on Saturday afternoon at the conclusion of a heartfelt pre-game ceremony that honored the victims of the Boston Marathon bombing. It was an incredible scene at Fenway that concluded with Ortiz dropping a F-bomb on live television when he told the crowd, “This is our [bleeping] city! Nobody’s gonna dictate our freedom. Stay strong.”

People immediately wondered how the Federal Communications Commission (FCC) would respond to the profanity on live television, but FCC chairman Julius Genachowski took to Twitter after Ortiz’s comments to say he had no problem with Big Papi dropping the F-bomb.

That may be one of the greatest tweets of all-time.

Ortiz was overcome with emotion and was speaking from the heart. For his words to offend anyone would mean that they clearly missed the point of what he was trying to say.
