The deal to send Darrelle Revis to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers was all but official on Sunday, but the final obstacles would not be cleared until the ink was put to paper. Now, it is official. Revis’ marketing and business manager tweeted out the message on Sunday afternoon that read, “Everyone congratulate the newest Tampa Bay Buc.”
Geiger’s tweet was accompanied by this photo:
Shortly after, this was the message from Revis’ agent:

Revis’ new deal with the Buccaneers is for six-years and is worth $96 million, with no guaranteed money. It is the richest deal for a defensive back in NFL history.
It clearly shows that the team was comfortable with how his knee checked out during the physical.
In exchange for Revis, the Buccaneers will send the No. 13 overall pick in the 2013 NFL Draft to the Jets and a conditional fourth-round pick in 2014. What the Jets do with the picks is yet to be seen, but we will find out in just a few days.
Revis’ return to the NFL field will come in week one when his Tampa Bay Buccaneers make the trip to New Jersey to face off against the Jets. How’s that for drama?
