Boston Red Sox player Jonny Gomes will be honoring the Boston Marathon victims during today’s game against the Kansas City Royals with a special engraving on his bat. While he won’t be saying, “This is our f—ing city,” Gomes has an incredible tribute of his own.

Gomes’ bat will have an engraving on the barrel that features the names of those who lost their lives during the reign of terror on Boston – Martin Richard, Lu Lingzi, Krystle Campbell, and Sean Collier.

How did we find out about the bat? Red Sox third baseman Will Middlebrooks tweeted out an image early Sunday:

The Red Sox will be a large part of the healing process for the Boston community as they continue to deal with the tragic bombings. So far, the organization has been world class in their support as they help everyone in the grieving process.
