Leading up to the 2013 NFL Draft, there was a lot of hype surrounding Tennessee Volunteers breakout star Cordarrelle Patterson. There was some belief that Patterson could be selected in the top half of round one, but the closer that we get to draft day, the less likely it looks like Patterson will be selected in the first thirty-two picks.
On the other hand, Patterson’s teammate, Justin Hunter, is on the upward swing and there is now talk that he will be a lock in the first round.
“I’m not extremely high on this Tennessee wideout, but apparently several teams feel differently,” NFL Network’s Daniel Jeremiah said. “He’s created a lot of buzz over the last week and numerous teams have told me that he is a lock to go on Thursday night.”
Hunter would be an excellent fit for the Minnesota Vikings, Pittsburgh Steelers and St. Louis Rams. All three of those teams need to add a top-notch pass catcher, and there are very few better than Hunter.
In terms of a playmaker, Tavon Austin is as good as it gets. But if you are looking for a pure wide receiver, Hunter is the cream of the crop.
We will find out in a matter of days which Tennessee wide receiver will be off the board first, but it current looks like the momentum is in Hunter’s corner.
