For the past few months, Florida Gators defensive tackle Sharrif Floyd has been a mainstay in the top five of mock drafts around the Internet, but with the draft just a few days away there is a little change in the pre-draft buzz.
Daniel Jeremiah of NFL Network was sharing his thoughts on the upcoming draft when he noted that Floyd could be in for a draft day fall. Jeremiah notes that if the Oakland Raiders decide to pass on the Florida star he could slide completely out of the top ten. Here is what Jeremiah wrote:
The teams picking fourth through ninth either don’t fit Floyd scheme-wise or they are set at the position. The Tennessee Titans (10th pick) would be his last hope to land in the top 10, barring a trade-up from another team.
It is very possible that the Raiders could trade back from the No. 3 spot if a team is looking to jump up for one of the elite tackles.
The Jacksonville Jaguars could potentially select Eric Fisher or Luke Joeckel, but Dion Jordan is also a possibility. If Jordan is the pick, the Raiders pick becomes very valuable to the tackle needy teams.
It is shaping up to be a very exciting and intriguing draft and we will get all of our answers on Thursday.
