Madden 25 Cover Vote: Barry Sanders Edges Adrian Peterson

The latest installment of EA Sports’ Madden NFL video game franchise is set to hit shelves on August 27 and it is a very special release. This year’s version of Madden NFL celebrates the video game franchise’s 25th anniversary. Unlike years in the past, this year’s game will not be following the previous trend — Madden ’11, Madden ’12, Madden ’13, etc. Instead, the game will be named Madden NFL 25.

Like last year, the Madden cover athlete wase determined by an interactive fan vote. Voting started on Monday, March 11 on ESPN.com/MaddenVote and it came to a conclusion today.

When the votes were tallied, NFL legend and former Detroit Lions running back Barry Sanders was named the Madden NFL 25 cover athlete.

Sanders edged out Minnesota Vikings running back Adrian Peterson by receiving 58 percent of the vote.

Congrats to Barry Sanders for the honor.

Madden NFL 25 will be available for Xbox 360 and Playstation 3 for $59.99.
