2013 NFL Draft: Cleveland Browns First-Round Draft Grade

With the sixth pick in the draft, the Browns selected Barkevious Mingo.

Mingo is an elite athlete that was LSU’s best pass-rusher under Les Miles. Athleticism is one of Mingo’s biggest strengths; he possesses the speed and agility to get to the quarterback and potentially, cause havoc in the backfield on read-option teams.

At 6’4″ and 241 pounds, the Cleveland Browns are likely to move him to outside linebacker in their 3-4 defense on the opposite side of newly acquired Paul Kruger. Strength could be an issue for Mingo, but the athleticism and pass-rushing skills are all there; sixth overall may have been a bit of a reach though.

Draft Grade: B

How about an F. A part time player at 6 that has never played linebacker. The OT’s will push him around like a rag doll.
