UFC light-heavyweight Jon Jones has had one of the quickest rises to the top in mixed martial arts history and his story is far from over. While Jones is focused on this weekend’s title defense against challenger Chael Sonnen, he is still looking ahead to some future match ups including a superfight with the promotion’s middleweight champion Anderson Silva.
In the past, Jones has avoided the question on whether or not he would like a fight with Silva, but he took the question head during an appearance on 99.3 The Fox’s Jeff O’Neil Show in Vancouver.
Jones was asked about the potential superfight yet again and this time he gave fans what they had been waiting to hear.
“Is this interview live?” joked Jones, via MMA Sucka. “Yeah definitely, there will be a time, there will come a time. One day, I said it first here. Normally I beat around the bush, but it’s going to happen for sure.”
Of course, Jones has a very tough test against Sonnen this Saturday in New Jersey, but the fact that he is now open to a fight against Anderson Silva has to have fans of the sport thrilled. Anderson Silva vs. Jon Jones would be the biggest fight in UFC history and it would surely shatter any previous pay-per view records.
