The college football season is still a few months away, but that hasn’t stopped excitement from building as we look ahead to the week one match ups. Out of the six opening weekend games, only two have spreads that are less than a touchdown — LSU is six-point favorites over TCU, while Georgia is a two-point favorite over Clemson.
Opening weekend’s biggest spread goes to the game with your defending national champions.
The Alabama Crimson Tide will start their run at a potential three-peat against the Virginia Tech Hokies in the Chick-fil-A Kickoff Game in Atlanta, Georgia. The game is set for Saturday, August 31, and it should come as no surprise that the Crimson Tide are big time favorites over the opposition.
Alabama opens as 22-point favorites.
Virginia Tech cornerback Antone Exum previously said that the Hokies will beat Alabama in the season opener, so we will have to see whether his medically induced delirious comments are accurate or whether the odds makers lopsided spread is more appropriate.
We have to side with the odds makers on this one.
