It was a very rough start to the postseason for the Minnesota Wild after starting goalie Niklas Backstrom was injured during the pregame warmups. The Wild face the Chicago Blackhawks in their opening round series, which is already a tough match up, and now they will have to do so without their top option in net for the first game.
With Backstrom injured during the pregame warmups, back up goaltender Josh Harding will get the start:

Harding’s last start came against the Blackhawks on January 30 when he allowed two goals on four shots in under seven minutes. He was pulled from the game. The last net appearance for Harding came in a 6-1 loss to Edmonton.
The loss of Backstrom is certainly major and it will be interesting to see how the Wild will be able to push forward without their top shot stopper.
Hopefully for the team, he will not miss significant time.
