Apparently, just because you have a lot of money doesn’t mean you aren’t susceptible to having the same issues that “common folk” have to deal with. At least when it comes to having your identity stolen. The victim? Why, it’s the NFL’s richest owner, Seattle Seahawks and Portland Trailblazers owner Paul Allen, of course.

According to the FBI, Brandon Price, a former military member, changed the address on Allen’s bank account then proceeded to call the bank and tell them that he had lost his debit card. After receiving the replacement card, Price then tried to wire transfer $15,000 as well as pay off his personal loans.

Price is expected to plead guilty to the charges and could face up to 30 years in prison if convicted.

What makes even less sense then the actual act of committing identity theft, is the fact that the culprit tried to only steal $15,000-plus from a man worth $13.5-billion.  If you’re going to do a stupid crime that will likely get you caught, at least try and go out with a bang.

Better yet, just don’t do it.
