There has been much debate about Chicago Bulls star point Guard Derrick Rose and when he’ll return to action. After suffering a torn ACL last postseason, Rose has yet to return to the Bulls lineup despite being medically cleared to do so. All along the former NBA MVP has stated that he’s not going to return until he’s mentally ready to do so, and he reinforced that on Saturday when he said nobody can tell him what to do in terms of his recovery.

During the offseason, the fear among Bulls fans was that management would rush Rose back but that is now reversed as management seems to be standing by Rose more so than fans who want to see him play are. But the quip by Rose was directed not only at fans rushing him back, but his outspoken brother Reggie Rose, who has been more vocal in Derrick’s recovery than anyone else. The elder Rose brother has done everything from say his brother will miss the whole season to trashing the Bulls front office for not making good moves at the trade deadline.

Reggie Rose stated that if the Bulls advance, there’s a “90 percent” chance that the MVP will return, but Rose is shooting that down right now. There’s nothing saying Rose won’t return, but by telling people to basically leave him alone, he’s saying you shouldn’t get your hopes up waiting for him to return against the Heat.

Basically, Derrick Rose has heard your pleas and knows that you want him back in the action. But until he’s ready, people will have to wait it out and watch him dress snazzy on the bench as he does nothing more than be a cheerleader for Chicago. But Rose is taking responsibility for his own actions, which is a sign that the old Derrick Rose might be back soon — maybe just not in time to save the Bulls season.
