Toronto Blue Jays starting pitcher J.A. Happ was involved in a scary situation on Tuesday when he was struck in the head with a line drive in a game against the Tampa Bay Rays. Happ was taken off the field in a stretcher, but he was in stable condition shortly after. Now with a couple of days to settle, we know the expected time table for Happ’s return.
According to Gregor Chisholm of MLB.com, Happ suffered a head contusion and a small fracture behind his left ear. He will miss at least a month.
Happ is expected to be out 4-6 weeks. He’ll avoid throwing for at least a week and will eventually start throwing off flat ground. #BlueJays

It is wild to think that Happ could return to action in June after the crushing hit he took to the dome.
It could have been a lot worse and Happ is lucky to escape with the injuries that he did.
