Josh Harding Gets Game 5 Start for Minnesota Wild

The Minnesota Wild have had a hectic situation in net during their opening round series against the Chicago Blackhawks. Niklas Backstrom was injured during warm ups for Game 1 of the series and Josh Harding took over starting duties. After putting together some of the most impressive performances of his career, Harding suffered a lower body injury early in Game 4, which thrust rookie Darcy Kuemper in to his postseason debut.

With all of the injuries in net, there were some questions about who would get the start and head coach Mike Yeo answered those questions.

Mike Russo of the Minneapolis Star Tribune passed along the news.

Russo went on to report that Yeo and goalie coach Bob Mason were having discussions throughout the Thursday skating session and that neither Backstrom or Harding looked very comfortable. Hopefully for the Wild Harding is 100 percent and ready to go or else the 23-year-old Kuemper will be forced back in net.

Chicago and Minnesota drop the puck at 9:30 p.m. ET on the NBC Sports Network.
