Inconsistent shooting guard O.J. Mayo has opted out of his contract with the Dallas Mavericks after neither side wanted to continue their relationship into next season, so now he will become a free agent. You will begin to hear potential suitors for Mayo once the NBA Playoffs buzz dies down, but there is already one team’s name that is being mentioned. According to Darren Wolfson of ESPN 1500, the Minnesota Timberwolves are interested in the free agent guard.
@lonzo218 I’ve heard from multiple angles that Flip will target Mayo. How he’d fit into their equation, not sure. Need necessary cap space.

There are some concerns about how Mayo would fit in the Timberwolves offense with Ricky Rubio and Kevin Love, but it appears to be something they are seriously considering.
From an outsider’s perspective, it just seems like a bad move that would disrupt any rhythm the team could have.
If the Timberwolves think they could make this work, then more power to them, but it seems like a move that doesn’t make any sense on a number of levels.
