Wild vs. Blackhawks Game 5 Final Score: Chicago Ousts Minnesota From Postseason With 5-1 Win

The Chicago Blackhawks needed just one win against the Minnesota Wild to earn the series win and advance to the next round of the NHL Playoffs. Luckily for the Blackhawks, they were in front of their home crowd at the United Center and that was all they needed to push through and earn the 5-1 win.

Chicago came out like a team ready to advance and they were able to just out to a 4-1 lead after the first two periods thanks to two goals fro Marian Hossa and a goal a piece from Marcus Kruger and Andrew Shaw.

Patrick Sharp extended the lead to 5-1 midway through the third period and the team was able to hold on for the win.

The Blackhawks will now sit back comfortably and await their next opponent, which will be the winner of the St. Louis Blues vs. Los Angeles Kings series. If the Kings win Game 6 on Friday, they will meet the Blackhawks in the Western Conference semifinals. If St. Louis comes out on top, Chicago will have to continue to wait for their next opponent as they rest up and wait for the next round.
