Boston Red Sox outfielder Shane Victorino was taken to the hospital on Sunday afternoon after a collision with the right-field wall. Victorino was chasing down Emilio Bonifacio’s two-run home run when he slammed in to the wall. Here is a GIF of the collision, via CBS Sports:

The home run gave the Toronto Blue Jays a 5-0 lead. The Blue Jays went on to crush the Red Sox by a score of 12-4, while Victorino was in the hostpial having his ribs and back checked out. Victorino remained in the game for two more innings after the collision before the team removed him because of “sore ribs.”

As you can see from the GIF, it was immediately obvious that Victorino was in a ton of pain. The Blue Jays pitchers came running out of the bull pen to have a look and check on The Flyin’ Hawaiian and he remained on the ground for several minutes.

The Red Sox have given no official update on Victorino.
